EYELASH EXTENSIONS!
After having baby #2, I was feeling the need to do something for myself. Eyelash extensions had always intrigued me, but I’ll admit, the only reasons that kept me from getting them, were 1) the upkeep and 2) the expense. Being a stay at home mom, it’s hard to find childcare during the day and when I do, I then feel guilty leaving them to do something silly like my eyelashes…
Well after about 6 months of toying with the idea, I finally decided to jump on the bandwagon, and I’m so happy I did! Yes, I still think the upkeep is a pain, but boy is it worth it!!! I’m not a big “makeup person,” maybe its because I don’t know how to do mine ha-ha, but doing something like this is great for me! I love waking up feeling glamorous 
☺ Even doing my regular makeup routine has completely changed! The lashes just add a little something extra and I feel so much prettier with them on!!!
I’m sure many of you, like me, have lots of questions, so I’ll try to answer a few while I also try to convince you that this is a MUST beauty accessory!
So first, what exactly are Eyelash Extensions?
Eyelash extensions are individual synthetic lashes that are applied using medical grade adhesive to your natural individual lashes. Eyelash extensions are applied one-by-one to one of your natural lashes.
How long do Eyelash Extensions last?
Lashes can last anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks, depending on care and lash cycle of your own lashes. Eyelash Extensions shed with your natural lashes and everyone’s growth cycle is unique to them, so lashes may last longer on some people than others. For me, personally, I have been getting mine filled about every 3 ½ weeks or so.
How long does the application take?
An initial full set will take about 2 hours to apply. For a fill, it will normally take about an hour to an hour and a half.
Where did I get my Eyelash Extensions done?
I first had my eyelashes put on and filled at Extend Lash Lounge in Alma. The girls there are all great and I had a wonderful experience! Most recently though, my hairstylist/beauty guru Nikki at The Upper Cut has been filling them. She is now certified to do Novalash, which makes me so happy, you have no idea! She is already a hair genius, and now she is my go to for eyelashes!
Final Thoughts
Despite all of the maintenance and expense, eyelash extensions are AMAZING! I have totally fallen in love with them and I know that all of you will as well!

There is the maintenance involved every 4 weeks, but it saves so much time having the extensions rather than applying liners and mascaras.
Think of it per day at least 10 minutes per day, 6 days per week (if you have a day off).
That is 240 minutes every 4 weeks just applying mascara, 4 times longer than a lash refill !
